Youth Activity Season
The Youth Coththission of Cong.
Beth Abraham has concluded plans
for the new season of educational
and other youth activities which
begins Sept. 9.
On that day, the new Beth Abra-
ham Hebrew School begins its
weekday classes under the com-
bined auspices of the congregation
and United Hebrew Schools. Six
hours of Hebrew instruction will
be offered in the 3-day-a-week
program including Sunday morn-
ings,
On Sept. 13, the synagogue Sun-
day morning religious classes loo-
gin' for-kindergarten, grades 1 and
2, and 9 and 10 (pre-confirmation
and confirmation).
The day nursery weekday ses-
sions open Sept. 14 for boys and
girls 31/2 to 5.
On Sept. 20, registration for
youth sabbath services and in- T.
terest groups will take place.
This year, a new sabbath ser-
vice for teen-agers will be inaugur-
ated for 12-15-year-olds. The arts
and crafts group, Tefilin Club,
Tween Girls Club, Leadership
Training Group (LTG) and young
adults will resume sessions im-
mediately following Simhat Torah.
Separate High Holiday services
for youth of all ages also will be
held in the synagogue under the
supervision of Rabbi Israel I. Hal-
pern and Frank E. Leiderrnan, di-
rector of youth and education.
