Program Set for Salute to Israel Dinner Honoring Morris Brandwine Morris J. Brandwine, immediate past president of Cong. Bnai David, will be honored by the synagogue at a Salute to Israel dinner Aug. 19, in recognition of his devotion to his synagogue and to Israel. The dinner will be held in the Julius Rotenberg Hall of the congregation, Southfield and 91/2 Mile road. Chairman of the affair on behalf of Israel Bonds will be Max Sosin. Lew Norman, noted comedian and raconteur. will be the guest star. Brandwine, who has served as president of Bnai David on two separate occasions, five years ago for two years and the past year, has held every office in the con- gregation. Bliss Co. of Canton, 0., in the presence of Pinchas Sapir, Israel's minister of trade and Commerce; Oved Ben Ami, mayor of Nathanya; Carl Anderson, presi- dent of the company; and officials of the firm. The new installation is being used to manufacture inclinable presses in capacities from two and one-half tons to 200 tons for export sales as well as for use in Israel's growing industrial economy. The dedication followed the start of production by two months. Sizable orders are already in process for Israel and offshore customers, in- cluding English firms. Bliss has manufacturing plants in 11 cities in the United States and five coun- tries abroad. It is a major producer of metalworking machinery, public safety equipment, electrical com- ponents and aerospace products.
