The report, appearing in Kol- Haam, the daily newspaper pub- lished by the Communist party in Israel, stated that the agreement had been reached in the Soviet capital between the director of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and the secretary of the Israeli-Soviet Friendship League, who conferred with officials of Goskoncert, a Soviet organization conducting musical affairs. While, at first, the pact reported- ly involves only visits in the Soviet Union and Israel by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and the Soviet Philharmonic, there is a possibility that exchanges in other cultural fields may follow, the re- port stated.
