Linda Marlene LaKritz and Dr.
Burt Frank were married Saturday
in a ceremony solemnized at Tem-
ple Israel by Rabbi M. Robert
Syme. They are the children of
Mr. and Mrs. Irving LaKritz of
Vassar Dr. and Mr. and Mrs. Ted
C. Frank of Manasquan, N. J.
The bride's silk organza gown
was re-embroidered with Alencon
lace, and bands of appliqued lace
fronted the sheath skirt. The full
overskirt of silk organza formed
a chapel train. She wore a floor-
length mantilla of matching heir-
loom Alencon lace and carried one
white rose on her confirmation
Bible.
The bride's cousin, Mrs. Richard
Lapidus of Miami, served her as
matron of honor. Mrs. Floyd Cho-
dosh of Wanamassa, N. J., Linda
Barak of California and Marilyn
Lucas were the bridesmaids.
FlOwer girl was Debra Stoller.
Floyd Chodosh of Wanamassa
served as his brother-in-law's best
man, and ushers were Bill La-
Kritz, brother of the bride; Gerald
LaKritz, Richard Colton, Harold
Beznos and Alvin Reifman.
The newlyweds will live in Port-
land, Me.

Movies Start at
Surf on July 15

Two films that attracted wide
attention in the early years of
the movie industry will have re-
peat perform-
ances here at the
Surf Theater,

Yiddish actress,
Molly Picon, is
featured in two
of her old films,
"Mamele" a n d
"Yiddle With
His Fiddle."

stated in behalf
of the theater's management that
the revival of these films is part
of the new Surf festival schedule.
"Mamele", the Yiddish musical
film, marks Molly Picon's second
screen venture. Her initial picture,
"Yiddle With His Fiddle," was the
first Yiddish all-talkie ever made,
and set virtually overnight a new
industry. "Mamele," like "Yiddle
With- His Fiddle," was tenederd a
Broadway premiere.
Miss Picon's supporting cast in-
cludes Edmund Z aye nd a, Gertrude
Bullman, Max Bozyk, Ola Shlifko,
Menashe Oppenheim, Symche Fos-
tel, Max Pearlman, Ruth Turkow,
Lew Schriftzecer, Bax Brin and
Carl Latowich.
As an added attraciton the
Theatre will present on the same
program a 30-minute featurette
entitled "Wonderful I s r a e I"
which will be in CinemaScope
and color.

LeVine the community service pin
of the Central Volunteer Bureau
of Detroit's United Community
Services.
LeVine, 19470 Parkside, has
been a member of the Home's
board of directors 15 years and
was chairman of the building com-
mittee for the new structure on
Seven Mile Rd. A wing in the
original building was named in
memory of LeVine's parents
several years ago, and he played a
major role in supervising its con-

struction.
One of the founders of Adas
Shalom Synagogue, LeVine long
has been affiliated with the Busi-
ness Men's Youth Club of the De-
troit Police Department and is a
member of Craftsman Lodge, hold-
ing the 33rd degree in Masonry.
He is married and the father of
four.

launched a campaign to raise $10,-
000,000 for the support and main-
tenance of the institution and to
tensify research into all phases
of Jewish life throughout the
World.
The money will be raised by the
Institute's Heritage Foundation
which is headed by Bernard Wal-
zer, a New York industrialist. Ap-
peals for gifts were sent out to
the friends and supporters of
YIVO.
The Heritage Foundation drive
is designed to make possible the
continuance of the Institute's pro-
gram which includes: the archives,
containing over 2,000,000 docu-
ments of .Jewish history and cul-
ture; the YIVO library of over
300,000 volumes that depict in
detail the religious, historical, so-
ciological, economic and literary
aspects of Jewish existence over
the last 500 years; the Institute's

lectures and exhibitions held each
year by the Institute.
YIVO was founded in Vilna in
1925 and was moved to New York
in 1940 to escape the Nazis. At
present the Institute occupies a
five-story building on upper Fifth
Avenue.

Radomer Plans Outing

Radomer Aid and Ladies Society
will hold its annual picnic noon
Sunday at the Oak Park picnic
grounds, Section I. Refreshments
will be served.
