Dr. Peter G. Shifrin, president
of the Fresh Air Society, said this
week that the FAS will serve 1,900
boys and girls, ages 8-16. The first
of three contingents of 600 camp-
ers left for Camp Tamarck, Brigh-
ton and Camp Tamarack, Orton-
ville, on Thursday.
The society also sponsors three
teen travel programs — two travel-
ing to the east coast and the other
to Denver, Colorado and Yellow-
stone, Wyoming. These trippers
follow a planned itinerary — cook
their own meals arid tent out every
night. The itineraries include visits

Cleveland Heights, Ohio, announce
the engagement of their daugh-
ter Pearl Joy to Seymour Green-
stein, son of Mr. Harry Green-

late Minnie Greenstein.
Miss Gottlieb attends Cuyahoga
Community College in Cleveland.
Her fiance, a graduate of Wayne
State University, is presently do-

Fresh Air Society to Serve Over 1,900
Campers; Announces Innovations

to universities, national parks, and
music and dance festivals.
Each year the campers at both
camps are offered increased op-
portunities to go on three day
canoe trips. This year they will
use the Au Sable, Manistee and
P ere Marquette Rivers. Pioneer
campers, 14-16, attend the festival
at Stratford, Ontario.
This year four groups of camp-
ers will each spend ten days at
Camp Kennedy, near Munising, in
the upper peninsula. Camp Ken-
nedy is the newly acquired camp
site contributed to the community.
The program will be supervised
by Arnold Collins who has been
a staff member for the past three
years.
Morton Levitsky is resident di-
rector at Brighton and Marvin
B e r ma n is resident director at
Ortonville. Sam Marcus is the ex-
ecutive director.
