We are sure you have always known this, But with time it grows still clearer There was just one you, in all the world, And no one could be dearer. A mother who was kind and loving, A mother who was sweet and dear, Who was life's greatest blessing Every day of every year. If the world was ours to give, We'd give it, yes, and more To have you, beloved Mom, Once again—greet us at the door. It must be true what they say, . That God chooses the best; He took your hand, and made us part, He gave you rest, but broke our hearts. Oh! what a sad two years! A statement mourning his death was issued on behalf of the Jewish Agency by Mrs. Rose Halprin, leaves a great void in Jewish life "The tragic death of Louis Segal chairman of its American section. and in the Zionist movement," the statement said. "Throughout his career, he gave of himself unstintingly to the Zionist movement and to every constructive endeavor in Jewish life. His services to the Jewish people were that of a dedicated, militant Zionist lead- er who led and inspired the Jew- ish working masses affiliated with the Labor Zionist move- ment to work unceasingly in be- half of Israel and the Jewish people generally. Alan Kornfeld„ 22 years old and six-foot-three, emerged from his hiding place after school gradu- ation exercises. He admitted that the shaft was a little cold in win- ter, but once that problem had been overcome with an electric blanket, he managed quite well. A fifth year special student, Kornfeld, an Oklahoman, lacked the funds for living expenses, so chose the ventilation shaft as a temporary hideaway in one of Yale's 12 residential colleges.
