Ground Is Broken for the New Home Marker to 1st Jew
Aor Aged; Named 'The Borman Home' in Michigan to Be
Dedicated at Fort
A historical marker commemo-
rating Ezekiel Solomon, first Jew
in Michigan, will be dedicated at
the restored Fort Michilimackinac
in Mackinaw City 2 p.m. Sunday.
(An earlier story reported that
the dedication would take place
on Mackinac Island).
This will be the first state mark-
er for a Jew in Michigan. A spe-
cial feature of the dedication will
be the signing of a scroll by de-
scendants of Solomon. The famous
massacre at the fort also will be
depicted.
