Heat the olive oil in deep skillet.
Add 12 tablespoon sugar and brown it
slightly. Add onions and saute them
for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Sprinkle salt and pepper over fish.
Mix vinegar with water and remain-
ing sugar. Add fish, vinegar solution,
bay leaf, carrot, and lemon slice to
onions. Cook over low fire for 10
minutes. then add tomatoes and pars-
ley. Cover and continue cooking for
5-7 minutes. Cool, and serve chilled.

Boil the fish fillets with the head,
bones, and skin, and the onion halves
in salted water for 4 minutes. Remove
fillets and set aside. Add the minced
onions, salt, papper, sugar and car-
rot to the stock and simmer for 20
minutes. Meanwhile mash or grind
the fillets into a puree. Add almonds
