HAVE YOU EATEN at the Hill-
side Inn yet in Plymouth, Mich.?
. . . If not, we recommend that
you do . . . Now that the balmy
days are here, take a ride and en-
joy the tasty dishes. fine service
and pleasant surroundings that Hill-
side has to offer . . . It's not too
far a drive and decidedly worth
the adventure in epicurean delight.
NO TYPE ERROR . . . the name
is Little Island Coney, Dave Fish-
er's yum yum place on W. Mc-
Nichols and Murray Hill, next door
to his Fame Cleaners . . .
FEW EATERIES in Detroit serve
a good bemaise sauce . . . Why? .. .
Perhaps there isn't much request
for it, although bernaise is defi-
nitely a gourmet delight . . . It is
made to order and takes about 15
minutes to make . . . well worth
the wait for that extra something
with steaks . . . If a restaurant
has a chef who knows anything
about good food he'll make a ber-
naise sauce for you . . . It is much
like a Hollandaise Sauce with
spices and shallots (cross between
garlic and onion) added.
KING PIN AT local eateries is
proper air-conditioning . . and,
with two 5-ton units, Jakk's Cock-
tail Lounge and Chop House on 10-
Mile Rd. and Greenfield is all set
for come what may in hot weather.
. . . Jakk's is also experimenting
entertainment-wise . . . Starting
this Tuesday nite thru Saturdays,
he'll replace his piano with an
organ.
WHILE CARL'S Bar and Chop
House is primarily a steak empori-
um, Carl Rosenfield takes a back
seat from no man in offering a
selective fish and seafood menu.
... Carl can seat about 500 people
at one time and has a staff of over
85 to serve them . . . Prices are
reasonable and portions generous.
IT'S EASY TO open a champagne
bottle . . . Untwist wire hood, re-
move it with foil . . . Hold thumb
on cork, so it won't pop out too
soon . . . Slant bottle, so it won't
overflow as readily, point it away
from others . . . Twist cork gently,
hold it as it comes out . . . Pour
twice, first fill glass with foam,
then finish pouring.

Phoebe and Henry Ephron.

Grant Crosby in "Sabrina Fair;"
Peggy Cass in "Bachelor's Holi-
day;" and Mery Griffin in "Broad-
way."

back Jack Palance for "A Streetcar
Named Desire;" Sam Jaffee with

Casey") for "Seidman and Sons;'
and Jayne Mansfield for "Bus
Stop."
