He leaves his wife, Jeanette; two sons, Reuben and Richard; and six gradchildren. • Word was received from Israel of the death April 16 of Max Dan- iel Lipsitz, 77. A native Detroiter, he was active in early Zionist efforts, having been a charter member of the Kadimah Society, organized by the late Rabbi A. M. Hershman, and was a life member of the Zionist Organization of America. He also was active in Jewish community affairs. Mr. Lipsitz was a former mem- ber of Cong. Shaarey Zedek and maintained his interest in the synagogue throughout his life- time, having been one of the founders of the junior congre- gation. He served in World War I and was a life member of Ashlar Lodge, F.&A.M. Mr. Lipsitz was in the real estate business before leaving Detroit to establish his home in Bet Yitzhak, Israel, in 1933 and there became engaged in the citrus industry. He is survived by his wife, Sarah; a daughter, Mrs. Yehudah (Ora) Graff; a son, Eliad; and four grandchildren, all of Israel. He also leaves a brother, Moses F.
