Passover in Spain 700 Years Ago

This Passover scene of the 13th Century will be shown
at the American-Israel Pavilion of the New York World's Fair
as one of eight dioramas depicting Jewish life in different
countries of the diaspora. Other exhibits will feature "A Jour-
ney Through 4,000 years of Jewish History," including Biblical
times and modern Israel.

Sets 'Kibbutz' Seder

An Israeli, kibbutz-style third
seder will be presented by Has-
homer Hatzair, Zionist Youth
Movement 8 p.m. today at the
Labor Zionist Institute.
The Haggadah used is an
English translation of the one
used by the kibbutzim of the
Artzi Federation in Israel. Sing-
ing, dancing and music are
woven into the reading of the
Haggadah. Refreshments and
community dancing and singing
will follow the performance.

Zionist Youth Camp
Extends Camp Period

Asher Livne, education direc-
tor of the Detroit branch of Has-
homer Hatzair, Zionist youth
movement, has announced the
lengthening of the 1964 summer
camp period, which now ex-
tends from June 29 to Aug. 10.
The camp at Perth, Ont., is
owned with the Montreal and
Toronto branches of Hashomer
Hatzair, which is connected
with the Kibbutz Artzi federa-
tion, consisting of 73 communal
agricultural settlements.
In addition to the camp, the
movement presents a year-round
educational program about Is-
rael, Jewish culture and kib-
butz and other subjects for Jew-
ish youth ages 9 to 18. For in-

Will Celebrate 16th
Israeli Anniversary

nation in a return to the opul-
ence of another area. This 15-
inch plate is representative of
much of the cut glass being
found in antique shops today
and is only one of many cut
glass items to be found at the
40th semi-annual exhibit of the
Great Lakes Antique Show
when it opens at Detroit's Mas-
onic Temple on Wednesday,
April 8. Punch bowls, plates,
glasses and other cut and en-
graved pieces, created during
the "Brilliant Period" between
1880 and 1905, may be seen
through Saturday, April 11. The
hours-12 noon to 10:30 p.m.
daily (last day 9 p.m.). Every-
thing is for sale.

The Zionist-Revisionists of De-
troit will observe the 16th an-
niversary of the establishment
of the State of Israel, at a din-
ner-dance 9 p.m. Saturday at
Cong. Shaarey Shomayim.
The date also marks the 20th
anniversary of the formation of
the Irgun Zvai Leumi, the under-
ground forces which ultimately
compelled the British to with-
draw from Israel.
The program for the event will
include music by Eric Rosenow
and his Continentals. All pro-
ceeds will be contributed to the
Israeli National Sick Fund.

Bicur Cholera, which trans-
lated means "aid for the needy
sick," raises funds for food,
clothing, medicine and house-
hold goods for distressed Detroit
families. The 29-year-old organ-
ization is under the leadership
of Mrs. Bernard Sumner, presi-
dent.
