Jewish Museum Buys
Bulk of Judaic Ritual
Objects at N Y Auction
A
Torah crowns, finials and
lamps of wrought silver and
other rare objects collected by
Michael M. Zagayski of New
York were bought by the Jew-
ish Museum at an auction.
The collection brought $347,-
630.
Friends of the museum con-
tributed funds for the pur-
chases. A pair of Torah finials
in crown form, dated 1717 in
Turin, brought $8,000; and a
pair in tower form from Mantua
in the 1600s, was purchased for
$9,500.
