1 cup of matzo meal
1 teaspoon of salt
'/s teaspoon of pepper
1 egg
Melt the • Nyafat in a saucepan
containing 3/4 cup of boiling water.
Add all the dry ingredients and
stir over medium heat until the
dough forms a ball and leaves the
sides of the pan. Remove the mix-
ture from the heat. Add the egg,
beating until a smooth, thick dough

is formed. Cover the pan and chill
for one hour. Shape the dough into
one-inch balls, dropping the balls
into two quarts of boiling water or
soup. Cook for 20 minutes. The
knaidlach will double in size dur-
ing this cooking. Makes 12.
MATZO BREI
2 matzoth, broken into small
pieces
1 /2 cup of chopped onions
Y4 cup of Nyafat
3 eggs
1 teaspoon of salt
Pour one quart of boiling water
over the matzoth and drain well.
Saute the onions in Nyafat until
golden but not brown. Beat the
eggs, adding the salt and then the
matzoth. Mix well and pour over
the onions. Cook over medium heat
until golden brown, stirring fre-
quently to brown all sides. Serves 2-3.

tral National Bank of Chicago
purchased $250,000 in State of
Israel Bonds.
Using a rotary blender, beat
the egg whites until stiff but
not dry, then set aside. Beat the
egg yolks and seasonings, ad-
ding and beating the gefilte fish
liquid. Fold in the mashed
gefilte fish, matzo meal and
chopped parsley. Gently, fold
the egg yolk mixture into the
egg white mixture. Heat the
Nyafat in a 9-inch skillet for
two minutes over medium heat.
Add the egg mixture and cook
for about five minutes or until
the bottom of the puff is golden
brown. Place the puff on a pan
