out the United States are ex-
pected to participate in this
year's 15th annual Barton's
Creative Writing Contest.
According to Stephen Klein,
president of Barton's Candy
Corp., this year's contest offers
participating students an ex-
panded choice of subjects, each
designed to stimulate continued
youthful interest in current
matters and historical events of
concern to the Jewish corn-
munity.
First prize will be a round
trip to Israel for two. Other
awards will include a $100
Israel Bond, second prize; a
$50 U.S. Savings Bond, third
prize; and a one-year member-
ship in Barton's Sweet-Of-
The-Holidays Club for the ten
honorable mentions.
A $200 grant to the scholar-
ship fund will be made by Bar-
ton's to the schools of the first,
second and third prize winners.
Details concerning the con-
test can be obtained at any Bar-
ton's store or agency. All en-
tries must be received by the
contest committee no later than
April 24.
