JERUSALEM — Finance
Minister Pinhas Sapir told Par-
liament Wednesday that
Israel's international t r a d e
could be conducted only on the
basis of reciprocity. He said the
government would seek to di-
rect import orders to those
countries which open their
markets to Israel's products.
He noted that industrial ex-
ports rose 23 per cent in 1963
but he voiced regret that the
$320,000,000 trade deficit of
1962 had not been reduced in
1963. He said that plans for
1964 envisaged a rise in ex-
p o r t s from $150,000,000 to
$312,000,000.
