Kansas Supreme Court Rules Sunday Closing Law Unconstitutional TOPEKA, Kansas, (JTA) — The Kansas Supreme Court ruled the state's Sunday closing law unconstitutional on the grounds it was vague and dis- criminatory. The court unaminously ruled that the law passed by the 1963 legislature, was "repugnant to the Kansas constitution, which guarantees equal rights to all persons." The law was the sec- ond attempt by the Kansas legis- lature to pass a valid Sunday- closing act. The first act, passed by the 1961 legislature, also was held unconstitutional.
