Vaad Harabonim of Detroit
(Detroit Council of Orthodox
Rabbis) for their role in furth-
ering the religious and spiritual
endeavors of the Council. Roten-
berg made it possible for the
Council to acquire new quarters
at 13327 W. Seven Mile.
Rabbi Hayim Donin of Cong.
Bnai David cited the Roten-
bergs for their philanthropic
causes and pointed out that the
dinner was meant to show ap-
preciation on the part of the
rabbinate for the help extended
by the guest of honor.
The committee making the
presentation included Rabbi
Isaac Stollman, president of
the Council; Rabbi Leizer
Levin, newly elevated to the
position of chief of the Beth
Din; and Rabbi Chaskel Grub-
ner, executive-director.
In his response, Rotenberg
urged the audience to continue
their efforts in promoting the
work of the Vaad Harabonim.
Guest speaker was Rabbi Pin-
chas Teitz of Elizabeth, N.J.,
a presidium member of the
Union of Orthodox Rabbis of
the United States. He was in-
troduced by Rabbi Stollman.
