At the recent Bnai Brith Israel night hosted by Pisgah
Lodge and Chapter where $50,000 in Israel Bonds were sub-

dent of the Metropolitan Detroit Bnai Brith Council. Co-spon-

Ballet fans will have a chance
to see America's most versatile
ballet company when the SAN
FRANCISCO BALLET per-
forms at Detroit's Masonic
Auditorium for two perform-
ances, opening March 7. Ac-
claimed throughout the world,
the San Francisco Ballet has
been hailed by the London
Times as "one of America's
two chief ballet companies,"
and has been acclaimed in
North and South America, in
Asia and in Europe as this
country's most versatile dance
company.

A special exhibition, "THE
WORLD OF SHAKESPEARE"
will be presented at the De-
troit Institute of Arts from
March 10 through April 5. Hon-
oring the 400th anniversary of
the poet playwright's birth, the
exhibition includes more than
1'75 important examples of
painting, architecture, c r a f t s
and manuscripts representing
the people, places and things
of Elizabethan England.

The ROY KAPLAN MEM-
ORIAL FUND of the United
Order of True Sisters, Inc., has
been established with a dona-
tion of $1,000 to the research
division of the lung cancer
study program being conducted
by the department of radiology
of the Detroit-Macomb Hos-
pitals Association. The fund
was inaugurated with the as-
sistance of Mrs. Caplan, fol-
lowing the death of her hus-
band, in whose name the foun-
dation is named.

Greetings will be given by Al-
bert Elazar, superintendent of
the United Hebrew Schools.
Community singing will be led
by Shiomo Biederman, and the
curriculum will be discussed by
Sylvan J. Ginsburgh, principal

of the high school department.
