Meyer Levin, one of the most
popular and best known Jewish
authors, whose "Compulsion,"
which dealt with the Loeb-Leo-
pold tragedy and its motiva-
tions, gave him worldwide fame.

college heads and a federal
judge were named by Gov. Nel-
son Rockefeller and Republican
legislative leaders to develop a
state memorial for the late
Herbert H. Lehman, form e r
governor and' senator.
Chancellor William P. Tolley
of Syracuse University, the Rev.
J. J. McGinley, president of
Canisius College of Buffalo and
Federal Judge Edward Weinfeld
have been asked to recommend
"a suitable enduring memorial
for one of the greatest human-
itarians of our times," Gov.
Rockefeller said.

`Anne Frank' Drama
Hit by Nazis; Fights
Provoked in Sweden

STOCKHOLM (JTA'—Fights
broke out in a theater here
when a group of Nazis tried to
disrupt a performance of "The
Diary of Anne Frank" by dis-
tributing leaflets alleging that
"the whole story is a fabrication
by the Jews, and never happen-
ed."
Members of the audience tore
the leaflets in the face of the

blows with the Nazis. Policemen
broke up the fights and ejected
the Nazis. The Anne Frank
drama has been playing suc-
cessfully here, in Swedish, with
the 1,000-seat hall filled for
