Mrs. Ben Nosan, fund-raising
chairman of the WoMen's Aux-
iliary of the Jewish National
Fund, announced at the annual
donor tea of the organization,
Tuesday, at Temple Israel, that
the sum of $50,000 was raised.
Mrs. Nosan said that the proj-
ect to set up Detroit Pillars of
Courage in Mishmar Hayarden-
Gadot, the area being redeemed
with funds raised here for the
JNF ,has inspired a number of
addition donors.
Eliezer Lipsky of New York,
president of JTA, the guest
speaker, described the pio-
neering work of the JNF and
declared that life in Israel
depends on the trees planted
there—on the vast forests
which helped in the reclama-
tion processes.
Lipsky told the large audi-
ence of JNF women contribu-
tors that the activities of the
JNF encouraged the pioneers
in their labors to assure the
establishment of new settle-
ments and in setting up defense
and security centers in the Jew-
ish State.
Participants in the program
included the Music Study Club
Chorus directed by Dan Froh-
man in a musical narrative by
