Sinai is an expert on Asian a n d African, affairs. At they end of 1955 he' w a s chosen by IVIapai to be its repre- sentative o the secretariat of the Asian. Socialist Con-; ference Bombay, I n- dia, at the end of 1956, he worked in S. E. Asia until the end of 1957 and met many South East As- Sinai i a n leading political personalities. On his re- turn to Israel he rejoined the political department of Hista- drut and worked for the infor- mation department of the for- eign Ministry. At the end of 1961 he was the only Israeli invited to at- tend a conference sponsored by some of the leading political personalities within the North Atlantic countries in Rome, to discuss ways and means of con- ducting political warfare against the Communists. Born in Lithuania in 1924, he emigrated to South Africa in 1934 and from 1948 to 1951 he lived in Paris and London where he was engaged in free- lance journalism. In 1951 Sinai settled in Israel. He is now teaching at the New School for Social Research on "Contemporary Europe" and "Western and Non-Western Civ- ilization", and is consultant to the Foreign Policy Research In- stitute of the University of Pennsylvania. He is the brother of Laurence Harvey, the noted film star. The musical portion of the evening will be presented by the Zamarin.
