Under the registration, two
kinds of securities will be
offered — 4 per cent dollar
coupon bonds, which will
mature in 15 years; and 12-
year capital appreciation bonds
on which interest will accrue.
The offering will be made, as
with previous Israel bond issues,
through the Development Cor-
poration for Israel in New
York, known as the Israel Bond

What is "Seudah Shelish-
ith?"
On Saturday afternoons it is
customary to eat a special meal
at home or in the synagogue.
This is called "Seudah Shelish-
ith" (third meal) since the first
meal of the Sabbath is eaten on
Friday night and the second
one after the prayers on Satur-
day mornings. In some collo-
quial expressions it is called
"Shalosh Seuclos" (three meals)
because with the eating of this
meal one fulfills the require-
ment of eating three meals on
the Sabbath).

Jewish Welfare Fund Appeal
here will seek to raise the record
sum of $6,061,000.
The goal was adopted at a
meeting of the board of trus-
tees of the Jewish Community
Federation, sponsor of the an-
nual campaign. Official dates of
the chive are April 23 to May 14.
The 1963 campaign realized
$5,829,216, highest total in the
60-year history of the Federa-
tion.
