sidered the emergence of Israel
Jewry reasserted its right to
live and evidenced a great act
of retaliation through con-
structive work.
His address was poetic. He
spoke of the indestructibility
of the Jewish spirit in spite
of all the forces that were
aligned against it. He de-
scribed the creative spirit of
Israel that was in evidence
everywhere — even in the
ghettos that were established
under the Hitler regime.
Quoting an admonition by a
