Friday, December 6, 1963—THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS-30 Wolff's Kasha Ideal for Hanukah Table Chances are that sometime during the Hanukah holiday you will want to serve a good hot bowl of soup to your family. For a special treat you might try chicken soup with Kasha, and be sure to use Wolff's Kasha, a tradition in Jewish homes for generations. The basic kasha recipe is as follows; 1 egg, beaten 1/4 cup shortening 1 cup Wolff's 1 teaspoon salt Brown Buck- 2 cups water wheat Groats Combine egg, Groats and salt. In medium-size frying pan melt shor- tening. Stir in Groat mixture and water; bring to boil. Cook, tightly covered, over low heat 15 minutes. Makes 4 servings. Serve as a vegetable, with gravy, or spooned into hot soup as mentioned above.
