Cantor Reuven Frankel, chair-
man of the Tri-State Region of
the Cantor's Assembly of Ameri-
ca, announced plans for a one-
day workshop on "Music of the
Wedding Service" to be held
Dec. 16 at Shaarey Zedek.
Participating will be cantors
from Michigan, Ohio, Pennsyl-
vania, Indiana and Canada, as
well as many outstanding musi-
cians and composers of Jewish
music.
The main purpose of the work-
shop will be how to enhance
and beautify the wedding cere-
mony and service. The Nusach
and history of the wedding ser-
vice, as well as the role of the
chazzan at the wedding, will be
discussed.
A workshop concert of wed-
ding music will be presented,
and all newly composed wedding
music will be distributed to the
chazzanim.
