Zelda Warner Dies
Mrs. Zelda Warner, 13124
Wales, Huntington Woods, died
Nov. 21. She was 59.
Mrs. Warner was born in De-
troit and was a member of the
Shaarey Zedek Sisterhood and
the National Council of Jewish
Women.
Mrs. Warner is survived by
her husband, Jack; daughter,
Mrs. Larry Freedman; brother,
Bernard Harris; sisters, Mrs. Jo-
seph Seldstein and Mrs. Lillian
Berman; and two grandchildren.
Actress Anna Appel Dies
Anna Appel, noted Yiddish
actress who has made numerous
appearances in Detroit, died
Nov. 19 at the age of 75. She
was also a noted motion picture
and television performer. Death
came of a heart attack in a New
York hospital.

Rabbi Fram Learns of
Sister-in-Law's Death
Rabbi Leon Fram was address-
ing the memorial meeting for
President John F. Kennedy held
on the site of the old City Hall
when word reached him of the
passing of his sister-in-law, Mrs.
Philip Fram, of 5550 Bradford,
Montreal.
Dr. Fram immediately left
for Montreal to officiate at the
funeral on Tuesday.
Belgian Zionist Leader
Lazare Galperin Dies
ANTWERP, (JTA) — Lazare
Galperin, a well-known Belgian
Zionist leader, died here Nov.
25. He was one of the Achdut
Avoda leaders in this country
and was very active in the
Keren Hayesod and the Jewish
National Fund. A native of
Proskouroff in the Ukraine,
Galperin establish in Israel a
Forest of Martyrs in memory of
the Jews of his town who were
killed in a pogrom in 1919.

Mrs. Mary Rycus, 79, of 8901 death.
Kingswood, died Nov. 25. Mrs.
Rycus, born in Romania and a
Detroiter for 40 years, was a
charter member of Temple Beth
El. She was also affiliated with
Hadassah, Zionist Organization of
America, National Council of
Jewish Women and the Amer-
ican Jewish Congress.
She is survived by husband,

Meir Argov Dies
MEIR ARGOV
Born in Russia. Argov (Gra-
bovsky) settled in Palestine in
1926 and served as secretary of
the Petah Tikva Labor Council.
Later he served as director of
the Histadrut Settlement De-
partment. He was first elected
to the Knesset in 1949 and at-
tended every World Zionist
Congress since the 18th.
Before emigrating from Rus-
sia, Argov was, as a Socialist,
sentenced to five years, impris-
onment in Siberia and served
three years of the sentence be-
fore he was deported. In recent
years, he had played a leading
role in cementing Israel's rela-
tions with the newly developing
African nations. He was one of
those responsible for arranging
for the sending of Israeli tech-
nicians and medical teams into
