assembly 1 p.m. Wednesday in
the school building. The theme
will be "Thanksgiving for Free-
dom" and will feature skits in
both English and Hebrew writ-
ten by the students. There will
be a special presentation of

much of his time to various
charitable institutions. For a
number of years he was the
American representative of Sha-
arey Chessed Gemiluth Chas-
sodim, free loan society in Jeru-
salem.
After the liberation of Isra-
el, Rabbi Eisenman left Detroit
to spend his remaining years
Harry A. Velick was elected
president of the Birmingham
Temple at its first congregational
meeting.
Other officers are Gilbert L.
Franklin and Steven M. Fish,
vice-presidents; Suzanne Velick,
secretary; ant! Joel Hepner,
treasurer.
Rabbi Sherwin Wine will be
religious advisor and spiritual
leader of the Temple.
A constitution was ratified by
the congregation. Its purpose,
according to Velick, is "to cre-
ate in newer suburban areas of
Detroit the atmosphere and pres-
ence of Reformed Judaism . . .
to provide families from the en-
tire Detroit area with one more
choice in their concept of Re-
formed Judaism, a small congre-
gation that is expected to remain
small. . . ."
Rabbi Wine will speak 8 p.m.
Sunday at the Eagle School,
Fourteen Mile and Middle Belt,
on "What's Wrong With Being
Grateful." The public is invited.

zines, as well as "The Psycho-
analitic Review" and "The Na-
tional Jewish Monthly."
Rabbi Rubenstein was one of
the 29 spiritual leaders who
participated in the demonstra-
tion led by Dr. Martin Luther
King in Birmingham, Ala.
