40,000 Petitioners

Ask Ratification of
Genocide Pact.

A petition sponsored by the
Emma Lazarus Federation of
Jewish Women's Clubs, bearing
40,000 signatures calls upon
President Kennedy and the U.S.
Senate to ratify the United Na-
tions Convention Against Geno-
cide. Preparations for presenta-
tion of this Petition will high-
light celebrations sponsored by
Federation of the twin 15th an-
niversaries of the Genocide Con-
vention (Dec. 8) and the United
Nations Universal Declaration
on Human Rights (Dec. 10).
In a statement released by
Mrs. Mollie Ilson, president of
the Federation, both of these
historic documents were stress-
ed as "essential to the achieve-
ment of the UN Charter for
human security in a world at
peace."

The Jewish Center will have
a Thanksgiving vacation pro-
gram for Tweens on Nov. 29.
This will be a trip to Canada
to tour the Heinz plant and a
visit to the Atkins Greenhouse
to see how flowers and plants
are grown commercially.
The bus will leave the Center
at 9 a.m. and return at 3:30 p.m.
The Tweens should bring a bag
lunch. Register in the Youth
Division office before Nov. 24.
