Sinai Hospital Plans Exhibits, Tour,
Honored for Cash Collection Drive in Education Is Topic Lectures for Public Open House

for Parley at Wayne

Israel Bond Women's Division leaders at the recent "Toda
Raba" luncheon held at the Jewish Center were, from left,
Mrs. Norman Allan, Women's Trustee chairman; Mrs. Morris
L. Schaver, Women's Division chairman; Yeheskel Barnea, Con-
sul of Israel in the Midwest, the guest speaker; Mrs. Louis M.
Elliman, Chen chairman; Mrs. Edward Wishnetsky, cash collec-
tion chairman; and Mrs. Charles Grosberg, first woman Golden
Trustee in Michigan, who was honored as a "Woman of Valor."
The luncheon was in thanks to the Women's Division for the
successful post-High Holy Day Cash Collection Campaign.

JWV Activities

OAK PARK POST will pre-
sent three classroom flags and
several engraved copies of the
Bill of Rights to the Hebrew
Academy Day School, 15400 W.
Ten Mile, Oak Park, at a meet-
ing of the Academy PTA board
on Nov. 18. Officiating will be
Maurice Noble, past commander
a n d Americanism chairman,
and Henry Cohen, commander.
Guest speaker will be Mrs.
Phillip Bernstein on "Teaching
Americanism to Children." She
is past JWV Michigan Depart-
ment president, co-chairman of
the Round Table of Christians
and Jews and a member of the
executive board of the League
of Jewish Women. Arrange-
ments were made by the Oak
Park Auxiliary, under the di-
rection of Mrs. Max Strumeyer,
president.

BALE AUXILIARY will meet
8:30 p.m. Monday in the home
of Mrs. Mark Taub, 13711 Elgin,
Oak Park. The club will have
an afternoon at the Healy home
2 p.m. Nov. 16. Mrs. Nat Star-
man, child welfare chairman,
will direct activities which will
include an appearance of pup-
peteer Sy Sims. Mesdames Jack
St a r m a n, Joseph Barnett,
Nathan Gold, Charles Eichen-
horn and Louis Burke are co-
chairmen for the afternoon.

AUXILIARY will hold a cham-
pagne supper membership party
9 p.m. Tuesday in the home of
Mrs. Al Siefman, 24660 Manis-
tee, Oak Park. New rules now
allow membership to mothers-
in-law and sisters-in-law of vet-
erans of the Jewish faith who
served in wartime. For infor-

A Boston psychiatrist, a New
Orleans sociologist and a Detroit
school administrator will de-
liver the chief addresses at
Michigan's first statewide con-
ference on intergroup relations
in education.
Re - Tesentatives of over 50
Michigan school systems, in-
cluding over 200 school admin-
istrators will discuss desegrega-
tion and its effect on children.
The conference is being joint-
ly sponsored by the Anti-Defa-
mation League of Bnai Brith,
the Michigan Department of Pub-
lic Instruction and Wayne State
University College of Education
It will be held at McGregor
Center on the Wayne campus,
Nov. 8 and 9.
The speakers are Dr. Robert
Coles of Boston, Dr. Daniel C.
Thompson, on leave from How-
ard University, and Dr. Norman
Drachler, assistant superintend.

The Sinai Hospital medical
staff will hold its open house
for the community 1-5 p.m.
Sunday, announced Dr. Hyman
Mellen, vice chief of staff.
Lectures will be held in the
ground floor lecture rooni, ex-
hibits will be displayed through-
out the building and there will
be guided tours of the hospital,
including the operating and
recovery rooms.
The lecture program will in-
clude "In The Beginning," Dr.
Thomas Marwil; "Symposium on
Diabetes," Dr. Sander Klein
and Dr. Piero Foa; "Arterio-
sclerosis and Rehabilitation,"
