. . .- you can't afford not to!

O

•• . on Tuesday, November 5

to RETAIN THE PRESENT RATE
of SCHOOL MILEAGE (7.5 mills)
(NOT AN INCREASE)

GOOD SCHOOLS = GOOD PROPERTY VALUES

VOTE YES . . . to

The largest single financial investment
most of us will ever make is the home we
live in. We want to preserve the value of
our property.
Real estate values depend on the market
— and a large part of the residential real
estate market consists of families with
children.
If a neighborhood is served by go o d
schools, homes in that neighborhood are
attractive to families with children.
Your best assurance of stable property
values in Detroit is a good school system.
The best investment you can make in pre-
serving the value of your property is the
school tax you pay.
On Tuesday, November 5, you will be asked
to vote to CONTINUE THE PRESENT
RATE of school taxation in the City of
Detroit.
You are NOT being asked to increase your
taxes; merely to vote YES to RETAIN THE

PRESENT RATE.

If we are not successful in this campaign,
the Detroit Board of Education will lose
ONE-THIRD of its income next year. This
will mean:

preserve the Value of your Home!

• Severe cutbacks throughout the en-
tire school system.
• Residential property in Detroit _will
be far less attractive to families
with children.
• A major part of the potential real
estate market will be reduced sub-
stantially.
• Residential property values will
suffer.
If you have children attend in g public
schools in Detroit, you should need no urg-
ing to vote YES.
If you have no children in school, you owe
it to yourself as a homeowner, interested
in preserving the value of your property to
VOTE YES on Tuesday, November 5.
A YES vote is a vote to RETAIN THE

PRESENT RATE OF SCHOOL TAXA-
TION.
A YES vote is a vote to preserve the value

of your property.
For-the first time in the history of Detroit,
even the Detroit Real Estate Board has en-
dorsed a YES vote.
