`Historic Tribute' Dinner on Nov. 7 Troth Announced
Governor George Romney
will share the program with
Dr. Dov Joseph, Israel Minis-
ter of Justice, at the Israel
Bond "Historic Tribute Din-
ner" on Nov. 7 in the Fountain
Ballroom of Masonic Temple,
it was announced by Tom Bor-
man, general chairman of the
Detroit Israel Bond Committee.
Max NI. Fisher, president of
the Detroit Jewish Welfare
Federation, will be toastmaster.
The affair will highlight the
Israel Bond fall campaign.
Dr. Joseph was Israel's first
Minister of Development and
was Military Governor of Jeru-
salem during the War of Lib-
eration. He is the author of
"The Faithful City," describing
the war for Jerusalem.

Governor Romney was born
in Mexico of American parent-
age. The Romney family was
driven out of Mexico by Pancho
Villa in 1912 when George was
five years old. His early life
was spent on farms in Utah
and Idaho.

committee, a subcommittee on
schools and education has ap-
proved a statement in support of
the Board of Education millage
request. The subcommittee,
headed by Rabbi Leon Fran, in-
cludes Mrs. Samuel Aaron, Mrs.
Irving Cane, Dr. Frances Cott-
sens, Lewis Grossman, Harry
Nosanchuk, Mrs. Ben Schotten-
fels, Sol Schwartz, Edwin Shifrin

The statement, released to the

ated organizations, urges a YES
vote on millage "as essential to
