CALL TO THE JNF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY AT THE NEW YORK HILTON OCT. 31st to NOV. 3rd, 1963 To All JNF Councils, Committees, Key Leaders and Constituent Organizations: THE CALL goes out to all Jewish leaders in communities throughout the United States, to the constituent organizations of the Jewish National Fund and to all JNF, Councils to name representatives to the National Assembly of the Jewish National Fund of America to be held at the New York Hilton in New York City, from Thursday, October 31st until Sunday, November 3rd, 1963. Aiding Israel's Security Fifteen years after its founding, the State of Israel finds itself increasingly threatened by its hostile neighbors. Recent border incidents that were the subject of discussion before the Security Council of the United Nations, dramatically illustrate the constant tension under which JNF workers labor in the frontier areas of Israel. Their vital work must continue. Development of border settle- ments is one of the most significant tasks now being undertaken by the Jewish National Fund. Despite current dangers, the JNF intends not only to maintain, but to accelerate its program in Israel. Ever mindful of its historic role, the JNF is steadily forging a chain of border settlements that will render the frontiers of Israel impervious to attack. Dictates of the Hour We, of the Jewish community of America, have been in the forefront of the great movement to establish and bolster the State of Israel. Today, more than ever, it devolves upon the Jews of America to hasten to Israel's aid and to strengthen its security. The Jewish National Fund has risen to the challenge of securing the borders of Israel through a living network of agricultural set- tlements from the Upper Galilee in the North to the Arava in the South. The future of the Jewish State may well depend upon the success of this bold and dynamic venture. Our Common Opportunity The future of the State of Israel, in a great measure, rests with all of us. Come to New York City and join our ranks on this festive occasion, in the great- and thrilling effort to carry forward the historic task, which, begun more than three score years ago, is still the best hope of all friends and lovers of Zion! The Call goes out to the leaders in every Jewish community in the Nation to take part in the momentous deliberations of the JNF Assembly which may well mark the beginning of a new epoch in the life of the Jewish people and the Jewish State.
