The national quota for new members is 50,000. The organi- zation presently numbers 318,- 000 in the United States. Directing the Detroit cam- paign is Mrs. Ivan I. Jewish News' Red Cross Article in Congress' Record The Red Cross Centennial ar- ticle which appeared in The Jew- ish News recently was incorpor- ated in the Congressional Rec- cird by Rep. Lucien N. Nedzi, who represents Michigan's new First Congressional District. The article, praised by Rep. Nedzi as "outstanding," reviews the activities of the founder of the Red Cross, Jean Henri Du- nant, who nearly 100 years ago advocated the establishment of a Jewish State to solve the Jewish problem. Center Theater Lists Cast for `Flowering Peach' Center Theater has announced the cast of its opening produc- tion of the 1963-64 season, "The Flowering Peach," by Clifford Odets. Garelick's to Open Season With Show The Golden Age Club of the Jewish Center, under the direction of the Cantor Nicholas Fenakel of Adas Shalom, has been visiting various hospitals and nursing homes in the Detroit area on the occasion of the High Holy Days and other festivals. Cantor Fenakel is responsible for the organization of the Golden Age Club. These visits have given a spiritual uplift to confined senior citizens. Because the senior citizens cannot attend the synagogue, the synagogue thus came to the senior citizens. Special High Holy Days Services were conducted, as shown in this photo, in the chapel of the Ingleside Convalescent Center on Woodward Avenue.
