Nearly $50,000 in Israel Bonds
were subscribed at the Detroit
Israel Bond Women's Installa-
tion Luncheon on Aug. 29 in
the Town and Country Club,
which was attended by about
550 women, with Sammy Davis,
Jr., as the special guest.
Mrs. Morris L. Schaver was
installed as Women's Division
chairman and awards were pre-
sented to Mrs. Joseph Katchke
and Mrs. Max Stollman, outgoing
co-chairmen, who had served
since 1959. Mrs. Morris J. Brand-
wine was the luncheon chairman
and Mrs. Morris Adler installed
the new officers.
Sammy Davis, Jr. who en-
deared himself to all present,
announced that he and his com-
pany of entertainers will give
a special concert and show here
on behalf of Israel Bonds this

Besides Mrs. Kachke and Mrs.

to Mesdames Tom Borman,
David Pollack, Norman Allen,
David Miller, Israel Wiener,

Israel Bond Parley
Set for Sept. 13-15

More than 500 Jewish leaders
from the United States and Can-
ada will meet in Washington dur-
ing the weekend of Sept. 13 to
set the stage for the fall drive
of Israel Bonds, it was an-
nounced by Dr. Joseph J.
Schwartz, vice-president of the
Israel Bond Organization.
The conference will be held
at the Mayflower Hotel in Wash-
ington through Sept. 15.
In preparation for the confer-
ence, Dr. Schwartz left for Is-
rael to discuss campaign plans
and Israel's economic needs
with Prime Minister Levi Esh-
kol and Finance Minister Pin-
