SOUTH BEND, Ind., (JTA)—
A University of Notre Dame
theologian expressed the belief
that American Catholics, Protes-
tant and Jews were "in substan-
tial agreement" on principles
for aiding in solution of the
world's swiftly expanding popu-
lation problem.
The opinion was contained in
an article by the Rev. John A.
O'Brien, which appeared simul-
taneously in Ave Maria, a lead-
ing Catholic publication pub-
lished by the Congregation of
the Holy Cross, and the Chris-
tian Century, a leading Protes-
tant weekly.

TEL AVIV (JTA)—Former
Prime Minister David Ben-Gur-
ion ended the brief retirement
from public life which began
with his surprise resignation
last June by agreeing to join
the Mapai Bureau for a num-
ber of major assignments. The
bureau is the Mapai agency
which directs and builds party
activity and policy. Reuven Bar-
kat, Mapai general secretary,
in announcing Ben-Gurion's re-
turn to party activity at a Ma-
pai secretariat meeting, said
that details on Ben-Gurion's
work had not yet been decided.

Michelle is a single human atom in the massive migration
of Jews from Algeria and other parts of North Africa. Her
days of confusion came to an end when she settled into this
course for secretarial skills being given at the newly opened
ORT school in Marseilles. The course is one of the emergency
steps taken by ORT to meet the special training and educational
needs of refugee youth. French ORT services, which will give
aid to almost 5,000 persons this year, receive financial support
from the United Jewish Appeal, under agreement with the
Joint Distribution Committee, and from ORT membership
activities.
