Mrs. John Nemon of South-
' field has been elected as junior
vice-president of the National
Ladies Auxiliary of the Jewish
War Veterans of America.
Among the duties of her new
office, she will be hospital
chairman and will solicit and
foster ideas for various kinds of
veterans hospital service work.

Sharon Anne Biales became
the bride of Richard Paul Sisler
in a ceremony June 29 perform-
ed by Rabbi Morris Adler at
Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
The newlyweds are the chil-
dren of Mr. and Mrs. Leon
(Yorky) Biales of Stansbury
Ave. and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Sisler of York Rd., Huntington
Woods.
The bride wore a gown of
silk organza and chantilly lace.
The top of the gown was chan-
tilly lace and the bottom was
silk organza with 10 white puffs
encircling the gown. Her head-
piece was made up of pearls
and crystals.
Maid of honor was Elsa Lloyd.
Mrs. Marilyn Snyder, sister of
the bridegroom, served as ma-
tron of honor. Bridesmaids were
Colleen Calihan, Mimi Scafone,
Harriet Greenstone and Ellen
Lankin.
Robert Wallach served as best
man. Ushers were Michael Biales,
David Kahrnoff; Irving Feldman
and Herbert Horowitz.
After a honeymoon to New
York and the Concord, the
couple wil reside in Southfield.

Green Auxili-
ary of the
JWVA for
Mrs. Nemon more than 15
years. She is a past president
the national auxiliary, a mem-

advisory committee and was last
year's national patriotic in-
structress. Among her other
many community endeavors, she
is secretary of the League of
Jewish Women's Organizations.

the fourth anniversary of Bra-

verman s Kosher Meats at its
present location, 13500"W. Seven
Mile, corner of Hartwell.
Joseph Braverman, in busi-
ness with his son, Theodore,
and Jack Hornfield, came to De-
troit in 1917 and worked in a
defense plant before entering
the kosher meat business in
1923. His first store was located
on Hastings St. and was follow-
ed by three subsequent moves
on Dexter before opening on

American Jewish Congress Women's
Division, Chapter Boards to Convene

Mrs. Leopold J. Snyder, presi-
dent of Women's Division of the
American Jewish Congress, an-
nounces a combined meeting of
the governing board and all
chapter boards will be held 1
p.m. Wednesday in the gardens
and homes of Mrs. Louis Red-
stone and Mrs. Sol Redstone,

Charna Ann Kass was wed to
Joel Yellen in a double - ring
ceremony at Cong. Bnai Moshe,
officiated by Rabbi Lehrman
and Cantor Klein, on Aug. 6.
Parents of the newlyweds are
Mr. and Mrs. William Kass of
Prevost Ave. and Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Yellen of Oak Park.
The bride chose a gown of
ivory peau de soie designed with
a molded bodice and accented by
Alencon lace re - embroidered
with tiny seed pearls on the
short sleeves and oval decollet-
age neckline. The dome-shaped,
floor - length skirt fell into a
chapel train, the left side of the
front boasting a unique detail
in an appliqued, draped, rose
fashioned of the lace, seed
pearls and peau de soie. She
wore a veil of silk illusion on a
tiny crown and carried a cascade
of yellow throated white orchids
and roses.
Attending the bride was her
aunt, Mary Bakst, as maid of
honor. Bridesmaids were Esther
Fine of Toronto, Canada, Janet
Jackson, of New York City,
Barbara Goldberg and Barbara
Yellen, sister of the bride-
groom. Debra Lynn Kass, sister
of the bride, served as junior
bridesmaid.
Serving the bridegroom as
best man was Myron Charfoos.
Seating the guests were Sanford
Wald, Norton Frank, Norton
Krinsky and Harold Kutnick,
cousin of the bridegroom. Steven
Alan Kass, brother of the bride,
served as junior usher.
Following a honeymoon in
northern Michigan, Mr. and Mrs.
Joel Yellen will reside on
Beaverland Ave.

Leave for Israel on
Habonim Workshop

Daniel Kutnick, 18. son of
Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Kutnick,
18039 Woodingham, will be in
the workshop -group of 26
young American and Canadian
high school graduates who will
spend a year working, studying
and traveling throughout Israel.
The workshop is arranged by
Habonim, the North American
Labor Zionist youth organiza-
tion. This, the 13th Habonim
Youth Workshop in Israel,
brings to '700 the number of
young students of post - high
school and college age who
have participated in this
program.
Kutnick will have an oppor-
tunity to work alongside for-
mer Americans and Canadians
who have settled at Kibbutz
Gesher Haziv, a cooperative
village in the western Galilee.
