Syria Releases 3 Abducted Belgians, Holds 3 Israelis TEL AVIV, (JTA)— Three Belgian citizens—a mother and two sons:—who, along with three Israelis, were abducted by Syria on Israel's Lake Tiberias, were returned to Israel through the Bnot Yaakov Bridge on the Israel-Syrian border. The three Israelis were still being detained by the Syrians with no indication as to when they might be released. * Now Open! Immediately after their re- turn, the Belgian family was questioned by Israeli authori- ties concerning the circum- stances of their capture. In a protest over the incident earlier this week to Maj. Gen. Odd Bull, chief of staff of the United Nations Truce Super- vision Organization, For e i g n Minister Golda Meir emphasiz- ed that the lake is entirely within Israel territory. Austria Seeking to Extend Deadline for War Crimes Trials Magnificent Mencotti's VIENNA (JTA)—Austria must extend its present deadline against further war crimes trials because a number of Nazi war criminals must still be apprehended and tried, Minis- ter of Justice C. Broda informed parliament here. He proposed extension of the deadline to 1965. Broda made his request "in view of present developments," declaring that Austria "must not become a sanctuary for war criminals." Authorities are now investigating eight war crimi- nals accused of "especially grave" crimes. An unspecified number of other criminals are still being hunted by the fed- eral police. *Something out of this world RELAXED DINING LUNCHEON-DINNER SUPERB COCKTAILS Entertainment Nightly 7113 PURITAN 2 Blocks West of Livernois 862-2882 For Res. One of his victims, a small, soft-spoken man named David Hazan, lost his home, $50,000 in the bank, a department store and all personal property . . He and his family of four were given a suitcase, searched for any valuables on their person and told to leave Alexandria immediately . . . Luckily, a Jewish organization managed to get him to Marseilles, France, where he looked for work . . . Soon after, he brought his family to Detroit in hopes of earning a living . . .
