Repertory Theater at U-D Makes Its Mark With 2 Plays Repertory theaters are gain- ing momentum and are attract- ing ever growing audiences, and Detroit's theaters are no excep- tion. Rising to new heights for its theatrical performance is the University of Detroit Repertory Theater, which has acquired new fame with its current festi- val which started on Tuesday. Two p 1 a y s, Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing" and Shaw's "Captain Brassbound's Conversion," commenced a run that will continue through Aug. 4 on alternate nights. Both were excellently direct- ed and both casts performed skilfully, providing genuine de- light for overflow audiences. James Rodgers and Evelyn Mac- Queen, the directors, and their casts deserve highest praise for dedicated tasks that have ele- vated repertory theater activi- ties here to new heights.
