Hut- ton, president. The Association's 140th semi- annual statement of condition shows total assets of $255,442,- 351.25 as of June 30, which represents a net gain of more than $23,000,000 since Jan. 1. The statement also showed net gains in savings in the last six months of $19,000,000 bring- ing the total savings held by the Association to an all-time high fo $230,035,202.46. During the same period the Standard' Federal mortgage portfolio in- creased by $21,800,000. The As- sociation now holds $203,719,- 216.03 in first mortgage home loans. $660,000 were added to reserves, bringing them to the current level of $18,544,156.17. Everywhere they went the subject was the same—women. * * * JENNIE TOUREL, soprano, and LEONARD SHURE, pianist and a faculty member of the Mannes School of Music, left for Israel to teach this summer at the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem. During her stay in Israel, Miss Tourel will partici- pate in the Israel Festival of Music. She will give concerts in Jerusalem, Tel - Aviv and Haifa.
