Fresh Air Society
Launches Season for
1,800 Boys, Girls

According to Dr. Peter G.
Shifrin, president, the Fresh Air
Society will• serve over 1,800
boys and girls, 8-16, this year.
The first three contingents of
600 campers have departed for
Camp Tamarack, Brighton;. and
Camp Tamarack, Ortonville.
The Society also sponsors two
teen travel _ _programs: one trav-
eling to the east coast, and the
other to Denver and. Yellow-
stone. These - trippers follow a
planned itinerary, cook their
own meals and tent out every
night. The itineraries include
visits to universities, national
parks, and music and dance
festivals.
Morton Levitsky is resident
director at Brighton and Carl
Hartman is resident director at
Ortonville. Sam Marcus is the
executive director, and has the
responsibility for the overall
operation of the camps:
