The suit for $340 brought by Joseph Rich, a real estate com- pany official, against the S'hel- bourne Apartments. "I'd rather give the money to charity than to the apart- ment," Rich told Common Pleas Judge Benjamin C. Stanczyk, just before the trial was to start. "If the apartment matches my check, Judge Stanczyk," Rich .added. "You pick the char- ity and I'll forget the lawsuit." Abraham Satovsky, secretary of the apartment corporation and attorney in the case, agreed. Judge Stanczyk picked the Jewish National Hospital be- cause he once worked weekends there as an X-ray technician when he was stationed in the mlitary police t h e r e during World War II. "They do wonderful things there," the judge s a i d. "and they can use the money." I SURF Ph.
