The catalogue, envisaged as one of inestimable value to scholars of Hebraica and Judaica, is sched- uled to appear shortly under the editorship of two Soviet scholars, K. Starkova and A. Ginsburg. The catalogue will be based on the collections left by the late Leo Friedland, a St. Peters- burg banker and philanthropist under the Czarist regime; Prof. Daniel A. Chovolson, a Jew who converted to Christianity to hold the chair of Hebrew and Syriac at the University of St. Peters- burg; and a famous collection by 'David Maggid. .
