Discuss AJC Plans
for Israel 'Dialogue'

Mrs. Betty Alderson, former
:national director, AJ Congress
Women's Division, will discuss
":the forthcoming Ainerican-Israeli
Dialogue Conference to be held
Jerusalem this summer at 8:15
p.m. Wednesday at the Jewish
'Center. -
The American Jewish COn-
,..gress which originated the idea
of the "Dialogue' 'has created a
tour program based on a person-
H to-person concept designed to en-
- courage a significant new rea-
tionship between American Jew-
ry and Israel.
Mrs. Alderson; who was di-
rectly responsible for the 'ar-
rangements of the 1962 "dia-
logue," will discuss plans for the
forthcoming conference as well
as some of the more controver-
sial issues which highlighted last
year's program. A social hour
with refreshments will conclude
the meeting. The meeting is
open to the public, free of charge.

Center Culture Club

David Gornbein, president of
the Jewish Center Culture Club,
announces that the guest speaker
for Thursday will be David Sis-
'•lin, who will speak on "Chaim
Weitzman." Mrs. Jennie Schu-
biner is secretary of the club.

The United Jewish Appeal
25th Anniversary Committee
will hold an appreciation din-
ner for the Flint Jewish Com-
munity 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the
I.M.A. Annex, announced Louis
Kasle, chairman.
The event will also com-
memorate the 15th anniversary
of the State of Israel, and will
honor those leaders who have
served as general chairmen of
the local UJA Campaign since
1947. Awards will be presented
to Edwin L. Elk, Dr. Julian
Feiler, Dr. H. M. Golden, Dr.
S. S. Gorno, Arthur Hurand,
Louis Kasle, Alfred E. Klein,
Marcus Lebster, Joseph Meg-
dell, B. Morris Pelavin, Jacob
Pines, Wilbert Roberts, Louis
E. Rudner (in memoriam), Jack
Shaprow and Ellis Warren (in
memoriam).
Noted pianist Coleman Blum-
field will he guest artist for the
event, while the main address
will be delivered by Zvi Kolitz,
Israeli author and motion pic-
ture producer.
The affair is open to all Flint
families who have made a con-
tribution to the campaign.
There will be no solicitation of

The Michigan Allergy Society,
at its annual convention in Ann
Arbor, May 8, elected Dr. Israel
Wiener president.
Dr. Wiener, who was gradu-
ated from the Wayne State Uni-
versity College of Medicine, has
been active in many Jewish
communal affairs.
He is a past president of the
Jewish National Fund Council
and a past president of Congre-
gation Ahavath Achim, and is
active in many movements here.

fair preceding Poppy Day, chair-

off event to stimulate the fund-
raising activity in the sale of
poppies.
