Text of Resolution by Sen. Hart, Associates, on Israel Security The text of the resolution in- troduced in the U. S. Senate Wednesday by Senator Philip A. Hart, jointly with Senators Gruening, Humphrey, Scott and Morse, is as follows: "Whereas tensions in the Near East are steadily mounting; "Whereas the stability and peace of the Near East are vital to the well being of the peoples of the Near East and to the world at large; "Whereas the continuing arms race in the Near East threatens to enter a new stage of devel- opment of nuclear weapons and offensive missiles; "Whereas the policy of the United States is to discourage an arms race in the Near East; "Whereas the United States has contributed generously and impartially to promote the ec- Jewish Publication Society Announces 15 New Books in '63 tiate with them either through the United Nations, or directly, an agreement that nuclear weapons will neither be pro- duced in the area nor be intro- duced into the area; that mis- siles of a mass-destruction na- ture will neither be produced nor be introduced into the area that an international policing system will be adopted to en- force such agreements; and that the United States continue, in accordance with the tripartite declaration of May, 1950, to take all necessary and approp- riate actions both within and outside the United Nations to prevent any violation of exist- ing frontiers or armistice lines in the Near East; and that the United States, either through the United Nations, or directly with other nation in the area, devise means to bring to an end the recriminations and in- citements to violence which are contributing to tension and in- stability in the Near East." PHILADELPHIA, (JTA) — The Jewish Publication Society of America plans to publish 15 new books in 1963, in addition to five paperback reprints, Ed- win Wolf, 2nd, chairman of the organization's publications com- mittee, announced at JP's 75th annual meeting. Sol Satinsky, president of JPS, who was re-elected for a fourth term, reported that, in 1962, JPS published nine new books, five paperbacks and 14 reprints..Highlight of the year was the publication of the new translation of the Torah in modern English. Satinsky said that last year's distribution to- t a l e d approximately 160,000 hardcover volumes plus 40,000 paperbacks. Meyer Feinstein, treasurer, reported that 1962 income amounted to $465,000, as against expenditures of $463,000. In addition to re-electing Sa- tinsky, the society chose Judge Louis E.
