Frank Judd Promoted to Controller at B&W

Brown & Williamson Tobacco
Corp. has announced the promo-
tion of Frank Judd to company
controller. In the new position,
he will have supervision over all
operating accounting divisions
of the large tobacco firm.
Judd, a native of Berlin, Ger-
many, came to the United States
in 1934 to escape Hitler's tyran-
ny. His first job in this country
was as an accountant with the
well-known C.P.A. firm of S.D.
Leidesdorf & Co., New York. He
joined B&W's accounting de-
partment as financial analyst in
1947, was promoted. two years
later to assistant treasurer, and
in 1959 was given responsibility
for the company's Analysis &
Reports.
