Manischewitz Co.
Inspection Controls
High Quality of Fish

The B. Manischewitz Company,
world's largest manufacturer of
Kosher Foods, which recently ac-
quired a half interest in North-
land Fisheries of Winnipeg,
Manitoba, Canada, announced
Northland voluntary acceptance
of the rigid inspection controls
of the Canadian Government
Specifications Board on all of
the fish processed in its plant
situated directly at the source
of the fish in the "God's Lake"
area of Northeastern Manitoba,
often referred to as "Fisher-
man's Paradise."
These voluntary inspection
controls are exclusive with this
company.
This inspection service re-
quires the constant attendance
of a Canadian government of-
ficial whose duty it is to inspect
all fish received in the plant
and to see that the plant facili-
ties and personnel live up to
the rigid requirements of the
Canadian Government Specifica-
tions Board.
Bernard Manischewitz, presi-
dent of the 75-year-old Mani-
schewitz Company stated, "this
will further insure at the source
the high quality of the fish used
in the manufacturing of Mani-
schewitz Gefilte Fish."
Manischewitz said the company
made an intensive survey of the
sources of fish used in gefilte
fish and found the God's Lake
area to produce fish of superior
quality. The fish are cleaned and
filleted at God's Lake and flown
out for shipment to the Manische-
witz plant in Vineland, N. J.,
Where they are processed into
gefilte fish.
