The new hospital ward will serve patients from the Ramat Gan area, near Tel Aviv, includ- ing old-time residents as well as newcomers. The ward, a white one-story building, 'blends with the other structures, at Tel Hashomer. Formerly an emergency combat hospital dating from Israel's War of Independence, Tel Ha- shomer is now the country's largest medical center, with ap- proximately 850 beds.
