British Court Upholds
'Sentence Against
Leading Anti-Semite

LONDON, (JTA)—Colin Jon
dan, leader of the anti-Semitic
British National Socialist move-
ment, had a two-month sentence
for abusive language at a Trafal-
gar Square rally upheld by a
three-justice divisional court.
The judges ruled that the
sentence had been wrongfully
quashed on appeal and ordered
Jordan to serve the sentence. It
was imposed on him for his par-
ticipation in a violently anti-
Semitic rally in the Square last
July 1.
• Lord Chief Justice Parker
ruled that the case was "perfect-
ly clear." The British fascist al-
ready is serving a nine-month
term on another charge growing I

Zuckerman Urges Aid for
Two School Propositions

Paul Zuckerman, former Al-
lied Jewish Campaign chairman,
co-chairman with R. T. John-
stone of the finance committee
of the Citizens for Schools cam-
paign, this week issued an
appeal for support of the two
schools proposals.
"At the election on April 1,
the children of our town will
find out what their future edu-
cational opportunities will be,"
Zuckerman said. "We can either
make them good or they will be
terribly inadequate, with no in-
between! Our voters will decide
on two proposals for school mil-
lage and bonds. If these pro-
posals fail, the operating budget
of our schools will be cut by a
third. It will be a calamity in
the strongest sense of the word.
It will reduce school facilities,
resulting in overcrowded class-
rooms."
Calling for an overwhelming
majority vote in support of the
two proposals, Zuckerman said:
"By approving the two pro-
posals, we'll be able to keep
our schools open the full school
year and we will be doing what
is expected of us, as adults,
properly to educate our children
on whom Detroit and America
depend for their future."
Urging the enrollment of
large numbers of volunteers to
get out the vote in support of
the two proposals, Zuckerman
