Another tribute in her mem-
ory will be the book shelf in
the Udin Library at the Hebrew
University in Jerusalem, spon-
sored by Pioneer Women.
Mrs. Lachover, a former art
teacher, had distinguished her-
self as a portrait painter, pro-
ducer of acclaimed drawings
and her last years were spent
at her loom, making hangings
with .distinctive portrayals. One,
showing Jonah and a big fish,
won a prize at the last Michigan
State Fair. Another, Daniel in
the Lion's Den, has won praise,
and is on display at Wayne State
University.

Cahners, author, publishing exe-
cutive and Jewish communal
leader, died here at the age of
75. He was the author of two
volumes of short stories.
Born in Cambridge, Mass.,
Cahners was a graduate of the
University of Maine Law School
where he received the degree
of Doctor of Jurisprudence. He
later settled in Bangor, Maine,
where he was a founder of

L.A. Jews Establish
Schiff Memorial Fund

LOS ANGELES, (JTA) - A
permanent tribute to Ludwig
Schiff, pioneer Los Angeles mer-
chant and philanthropist, in the
form of the Ludwig Schiff Memo-
rial Fund, was announced by the
Jewish Community Foundation
of the Los Angeles Jewish Fed-
eration-Council. Schiff was 87 at
his death last week.
