tor of purchases of the Eastern
Division Plant in Rahway, N. J.
In honoring Kahn, the Tem-
ple Board of Trustees paid tri-
bute to his services as chair-
man of the Temple building
committee that erected the pre-
sent sanctuary, his dedication
to duty as a member of the
Temple board and his devotion
to the congregation.
When asked by his business
associates how he wanted to ob
serve his 60th birthday, and
36th wedding. anniversary, Kahn.
said his greatest joy would be
if the Temple could benefit
from the event. The reception-
dinner was the result.
In addition to his wife, the
former Sadie Gottschalk of De-
troit, joining him on this happy
occasion were his son and
daughter-in-Iaw, Mr. and Mrs.
Ionel Kahn;. his daughter and
son-in-law,. Mr. and Mrs. E.
Isenberg.
Kahn's brother, Iver S. and
many other relatives reside in
the Detroit area.

Mrs. Leopold J. Snyder, presi-
dent of the Detroit Women's Di-
vision of The American Jewish
Congress, will greet over 300 AJ
Congress members and guests at
the 16th Annual Amity Award
Luncheon, honoring Police Com-
missioner and Mrs. George Ed-
wards, Wednesday at Adas Sha-
lom Synagogue.
The Rt. Rev. Richard S. Em-
rich, Bishop of the Episcopal
Diocese of Michigan and chair-
man of the Amity Award Judges
Committee, will make the award
presentation. T h e inscription
reads in part: "Two persons who
succeed daily where others
equally well intentioned fail .. .
By living in accord with their
ildeals . . . By evincing a deep
affection for humanity .. . For
the Edwards . . . Not the words
alone but the deed."

Festival of Brotherhood Concert

The Second Annual Festival
of Brotherhood Concert will be
presented by the' Older Adult
Council of the Jewish Center
8 p.m. March 28.
The theme of the Festival will
be "Haw Good and How Pleas-
ant It Is For Brothers To Dwell
Tagether."
Entertainment will be fur-
nished by the Jewish Center
Golden Age Chorus under the
direction of Cantor Nicholas
Fenakel; the Mayflower Church
Choir, directed by John Secrist;
the Young Adult Choir of the
New Light Baptist Church, di-
rected by Harold Smith; the
Chrysler Corporation Highland-
ers, bagpipers and dancers with
Robert Lilley as pipe major;
and the Zamarim, who will pre-
sent foiksongs from many lands.
Addressing the assembly will
be Charles H. Gershenson, pres-
ident of the Center; the Honor-
able Elvin L. Davenport, Execu-
tive Judge of the Recorders
Court; Alfred May, president,
Detroit Roundtable of Catholics,
Jews and Protestants; Most Rev.

Monsignor Wilbur F. Suedkamp,
secretary, Detroit Catholic Char-
ities; and Rabbi Jacob E. Segal,
Aclas Shalom Synagogue.
There will be a reception fol-
lowing the concert. There IS no
admission charge. Tickets are
available in the Older Adult
office at the Center.
